Publication by EssentiallySports | September 26, 2026 | Edition #735 |
Hey Athletic Fans,
Usain Bolt was just caught on camera doing something fans have been begging for: training IShowSpeed. Cameras were rolling and speculation is already running wild about what exactly the two are cooking up together.
Also today: Keely Hodgkinson's iconic Nike speed suit turned heads at Athlos London, but there's a catch, and unfortunately for her, it might affect LA 2028.
All that and more in today’s edition of Essentially Athletics.

Your shampoo is cleaning your hair. It's also stripping the scalp, drying it out, and disrupting the follicle environment that healthy hair needs. SLS. Salt. Parabens. They're in almost every standard shampoo, and they're working against you every morning. Particle Hair-Thickening Shampoo has none of them. SLS-free, salt-free, paraben-free — a science-backed formula that doesn't just clean, it rebuilds from root to tip. Over 1,000,000 men have already switched. They're not switching back. Try it risk-free with a 30-day money-back guarantee. 20% off with code BH20.

Puripol Boonson delivered on his own hype, lowering the Asian Games 100m record for the second time in a matter of hours to win gold in 9.90 — Thailand's first men's 100m Asian Games title in 48 years. Watch below 👇

On 24th September 1988, Sergey Litvinov flips the script on his fiercest rival, out-throwing training partner Yuriy Sedykh to win hammer throw gold at the Seoul Olympics with an Olympic record of 84.80m.
It completes a Soviet podium sweep for the third time in four Olympics, with Jüri Tamm taking bronze again, as he did in 1980—when Sedykh and Litvinov finished in the opposite order.
Nearly four decades on, Litvinov's throw remains the Olympic record, unbroken by anyone since.
