The nine-time Olympic champion is now the head coach of the University of Houston’s track and field programme, returning to the school where he began his collegiate career.

Lewis took over the programme in 2022 and continues to coach sprinters and jumpers while helping develop the next generation of American athletes. He’s set to enter his 14th season at the University of Houston and fourth as head coach.

Lewis remains involved in athletics through coaching, public appearances and athlete mentorship.

The former sprinter and long jumper won nine Olympic gold medals between 1984 and 1996 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest track and field athletes in history.
