At the 1932 AAU Championships (also the U.S. Olympic Trials), Babe Didrikson competed as a literal one-woman team against squads of up to 20 athletes. She entered eight of ten events, won six, and set several world records in about three hours. Weeks later, she went on to win two Olympic golds and a silver in LA.
