The Milano Cortina Winter Games mark the Olympic debut of Elias Lajunen, the teenage freestyle skier and son of Samppa Lajunen, a three-time Olympic gold medalist in Nordic combined.

However, February 15 brought a frightening moment. During his opening qualification run in Livigno, Elias attempted a high-difficulty aerial trick and crashed on landing, striking his head and losing consciousness. He then slid face-down to the bottom of the landing area, prompting immediate concern inside the venue. Watch the full incident below.
