There’s an unexpected update coming in from a race that concluded Saturday night at the NCAA Championships. A winner couldn't even enjoy her title for a full hour before it was taken away from here. More on that and the rest of today's updates in this afternoon edition.

This 17-year-old ran an incredible 48.31 seconds, shattering the previous 24-year-old U18 World Record of 48.89 seconds set by South Africa's L.J. Van Zyl in 2002. The run made him the first-ever under-18 athlete to break the 48.50-second barrier. Just a day later, he has further lowered it to 48.09 seconds. With this run, he won the national title, becoming the first high schooler in history to win the men's 400m hurdles at the Japanese National Championships.
