South African long jumper Luvo Manyonga returned to winning ways on Thursday, claiming victory at the Grand Slam Jerusalem with a wind-assisted leap of 8.35m (+2.6 m/s). The mark is his best performance under any conditions since returning to competition following the completion of his four-year anti-doping ban in December 2024.

The former world champion comfortably topped the field, with Romania's Gabriel Bițan finishing a distant second at 7.91m. Afterwards, Manyonga described the result as "just the beginning," saying he believes the performance is a major step in his journey back to the top.
