Hey Athletic Fans,

Noah Lyles' 100m gold in Paris came down to five-thousandths of a second, one of the closest Olympic finals in modern history. Turns out someone saw it coming. Lyles is revealing that a track legend, who's since passed away, predicted the exact margin before the race even happened, down to the fraction of a second.

Elsewhere, Sha'Carri Richardson gets a lucky break in Brussels as two of her biggest threats bow out of the Diamond League Final entirely.

All that and more in tonight's edition of Essentially Athletics.

Hair Dye Fixes the Gray. It Doesn't Fix the Roots

Hair dye solves the gray you can see. It doesn't touch the reason it's happening. That's why the roots come back, the color looks painted, and the routine never ends. You're not fixing the problem — you're managing the symptom every few weeks. Particle Anti-Gray Serum works differently. It targets the root cause of graying — restoring your natural pigment gradually, from the inside out. Hair and beard. No dye, no smell, no roots giving it away. Results that look like yours because they are. Five seconds a day. Thirty-day money-back guarantee if you don't see a difference. Over a million men trust Particle. Do you think Sha'Carri Richardson can capitalize on her rivals' absence in Brussels?

On this day in 1960, Wilma Rudolph storms to Olympic gold in the 100m in Rome, clocking 11.0 to beat Britain's Dorothy Hyman by three tenths and Italy's Giuseppina Leone for bronze. It's the first leg of a historic triple as she would go on to win the 200m and anchor the 4x100m relay.

It made her the first American woman ever to win three track-and-field golds at a single Olympics. The victory caps an improbable journey for a woman who wore a leg brace as a child after contracting polio.
