Salwa Eid Naser produced a stunning anchor leg in the women's 4x400m at the Asian Games, storming from seventh to second in the space of 400 metres to snatch silver for Bahrain, though it wasn't quite enough to catch India's Vithya Ramraj at the line. Watch below 👇

On this day in 1988, Louise Ritter finally broke through on her third Olympic team, beating world record holder Stefka Kostadinova of Bulgaria in a jump-off to win high jump gold at the Seoul Olympics with a national record 2.03m.

Both women cleared 2.01m before missing all three attempts at 2.03m, forcing a winner-take-all decider that Ritter alone cleared.

It caps a long road to the podium for the 30-year-old, who missed the 1980 Games due to the US boycott and finished a distant eighth in Los Angeles four years later.
