Hey Athletic Fans,

Simone Biles cried on camera while confirming a major decision, and even she admits she didn’t see the tears coming. It is a rare, unscripted moment from one of the biggest names in sports, and fans have plenty to say.

Elsewhere, a former gymnast is taking legal action over what he says he endured under his coach during his NCAA years, and the allegations are hard to read.

All that and more in today’s edition of Essentially Athletics.
